Evaluation question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products. This question requires me to evaluate my media product, talking about whether it develops forms and conventions that are usually used in music videos, or if we have challenged them discussing in what ways and the reasoning for doing so, talking about how we came up with it. I will continue by talking about the research I did which enabled me to discover these forms and conventions, and what research inspired me to challenge them. To answer this question, I have an option from the following to choose from: Interview with actor/actress Directors Commentary discussing the footage Critique review

Evaluation question 2

How effective is the combination of your media product and ancillary text? This question requires me to talk about my music video and ancillary text, then discuss how they compliment each other, and how certain things may clash, and have not been effective. I would then continue by explaining ways in which I could improve my ancillary text to compliment my media more and make it more effective.  Ways in which I could present this is: Interview with director Interview with audience, asking what they think about conventions we used Video of me discussing the forms and conventions

Evaluation question 3

What have you learned from your audience feedback? This is asking me to question people who have watched my media product what they thought, trying to get them to give constructive criticism, so I am able to hear what worked and what we could have developed to improve our music video. The ways in which I could answer this question is: Questionnaire and evaluation presented on a powepoint Interview with audience and filmed conclusion of discoveries

Evaluation question 4

How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? This requires me to discuss the range of technology used throughout the process of making our media product. I can discuss how the technology benefited our final piece by talking about the positives and negatives of each piece how it was used during the process. I can answer this by: Discussing all the technologies in a video Make a PowerPoint discussing and evaluating the technology  Interviewing the director

Time-lapse

One of the advantages of using our iPhone's to film, is that we are able to use the setting time-lapse for an alternative shot. As we are trying to make Lauren look isolated, this is the perfect effect to use as she is standing alone, but everyone else is ignoring her, passing her without any knowledge of her, and without a care about her; showing she is all alone without her boyfriend. In the first video we are using time-lapse, whereas in the second video, we accidentally filmed in normally, so instead of wasting the footage, we realised that if we sped it up, it gave a similar effect as when we filmed in 'time-lapse' mode.

Nature Shots

Today I filmed some shots, purely of tree branches and the sky as the background. The sky was bright blue but was a little overcast, which was perfect as it gave a really good textured and layered appearance. As the song is about her boyfriend leaving her to go travelling, the trees and sky symbolise his  freedom and him leaving. We are planning to over lay this footage with Lauren dancing, therefore her dancing on her own, on top of the open sky emphasises her loneliness and his abandonment. This will give the audience a deep, textured visual, which will also intensify their emotions towards the dancers sadness and isolation.
