Quadrophenia is about Mods and Rockers in the 1960s. Mods embrace European 'modern' fashion, influenced by the french and Italian. They rode vespas/ lambrettas that were decorated with lights and badges which were usually branded items that were popular. They liked to listen to Jazz and Northern Soul as they could identify with the black experience in America as people in the North were experiencing relatable occurrences- bad pay, factory work, discrimination. 'The Who' were also a huge influence to the Mods as they were the poster boys of mods. The rockers wore leather jackets, which was very much a part of their identity due to the badges added, this was usually worn with Levi jeans and biker boots.
