All I Ask- Adele coreography

This music Video incorporates a lot of contemporary dance between a man and woman. Their moves and actions are emotive and carry a lot of power as their movements fit with the music perfectly, emphasising the songs heartbreaking theme, connecting the viewer further to the songs message. This music video covers similar messages we want to depict in our media product for 'lost without you'. We are thinking about taking similar movements they use, and they way in which speed for certain moves are have a big impact, for example the slow movements are more emphasised, making them much more effective. Unfortunately we are not able to a find a man to dance with Lauren, but we do not think this is a major issue as this just reinforces the fact she has been abandoned and is isolated.

Feedback from production pitch

The feedback we received from our class was positive as they felt our idea was strong and we had a clear plan/ pitch too express the ideal music video we want to create. They specifically liked our idea that the music video will begin in black and white, and then develop in to vibrant colour when the chorus line "I'm alive" is sung, emphasising the change in the dancers mood from depressed to one of hope and happiness.  The class also enjoyed our mood board which we had created as they felt it expressed our ideas clearly in visual detail.  The other idea we had about colour was also highly liked, as we are planning to use strong coloured lighting to connect the dancer with different locations, for examples a green lighting will be on Lauren in the studio which will then be edited to cutaway to a vibrant green forest, showing one of the dancers memories. Costume

When Lauren is Dancing, she wears a black leotard, and a white shirt. We thought this was a good choice in outfit, as it moved well when she danced, and enabled her legs to be visible, making slow movements clear and strong. Also the clothing has meaning as the shirt suggests it is her boyfriends which left her, emphasising that she is struggling to live with out him, therefore has a little bit of him with her at all times. For our other locations, we dressed her in casual clothes to show she is a normal girl. We wanted this to be an element of her costumes as it means the audience is able to relate to this character as she is similar to people they would know.
