Audience research
Without an audience, there is no point creating a media product. The media industry spends millions ensuring they are providing the correct content to their audience by finding out what their target audience want from their media product. No matter how amazing, or creative a product
What I will need to know for my production:
- · Who your audience is
- · Age/interests/views/opinions- young- really modern, current.
- · What other typed of media they consume
- · How they consume
- · Where do they get it from
- · Who they identify themselves with- what group do they come from- fan girls,
- · How much they consume
- · Who they consume it with- youtube
- · The effect it has on them and ht effect they have on it- how they feel after- emotions effected, involved? empathetic
Case studies
The BFI website provides multiple case studies to examine. pick 3 which interest me and post a synopsis on my studies-
Audience research
- Pick key themes and ideas
- How did they promote their text to their audience
Once understanding my audience, I need to:
- Identify your core audience
- Identify your broader audience
- Collect feedback from your audience- surveys/ polls/ questionnaires. focus groups, exit polls
- Be clear showing what changed you have made due to feedback.
- Help you decide and influence final piece.
