The boy whose skin fell off

This was another documentary which bought up major moral issues, as it opened with Jonny Kennedy, a 37 year old man, dead in his wheelchair.

The documentary followed Jonny, a man suffering from a rare skin disease DEB, for the last 4 months of his life. It showed him planning his funeral, and doing the last few things he wanted to do before he died, for example fly plane and have a house warming. It also showed him fund-raise and bring awareness to the disease before he died, in order to help others by trying to find a cure.

This documentary bought up controversial issues such as how people deal with the inevitability of  death, if Jonny's mum knew about the condition before he was born, would she have aborted, and the representation of spirituality and religion through Jonny's opinions and life.

This documentary was much more hard hitting than 'the bridge' as you built a relationship with Jonny. You were able to get to know his personality, and as he was a likable character, when watching the pain he had to endure, you were more empathetic, therefore making it more effective documentary in my opinion, as the audience is left emotional, with a strong memory of what the watched.
